YESAB administers an assessment process that is carried out either by Designated Offices, an Executive Committee of the Board or Panels of the Board.

The broad parameters of our assessment process are set out in the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act (YESAA). Rules, established by YESAB,

provide a detailed framework to guide the conduct of evaluations [assessments] at all three levels of assessment.

Assessments under YESAA have been in effect since November 2005.
